I was born and raised in a small town in Western New York. When I was
17 I heard the gospel for the first time and accepted Christ as my
Savior. In 2007 when I moved to Buffalo, NY I became involved in
‘Vintage’, a college-aged ministry, where I learned what truly giving my
life to Jesus meant, and one part of that was 100% obedience to God,
His Word and His calling.
Moving to the Dominican Republic to serve God was never in my life
plan. I had been on only two missions trips in my life, one to Costa
Rica where I had a little interaction with the GAP students there, and
then to the Dominican Republic with a group of college-aged students.
The Lord started stirring my heart for something more at the end of that
trip, and nine months later I was asked to be a part of the GAP
leadership staff in the Dominican Republic. Within two days I knew that
this was were God wanted me.
The Lord has challenged me, stretched me and grown me in my confidence
in Him and in His faithfulness. He has taken me out of my comfort zones
to show me what complete dependence on Him looks and feels like.
While living, serving and leading in the Dominican Republic, I can
look back over the past 15 years as a follower of Christ and know that
this is what the Lord has been preparing me for. It was in 100%
obedience that I quit my job of 10 years and moved to Juan Dolio for GAP
year 2013-2014. And it is in obedience that I have signed on for GAP
year 2014-2015.
