A trip to Virginia...and a little photo gallery dedicated to moms

So last, last Friday...May 4...I made a trip to Virginia to visit my sister. We had a great time, and although both of us were questioning what we were going to do for the 4 days I was there, the extended weekend went by pretty fast!

Friday started at 3:15am, waking up early to get to the airport by 5. My mom was flying to Nashville, my dad was fishing, so that's why I decided to go away too. Both my mom and I flew out wicked early, and due to Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters being on Thursday night, we decided not to drive up the night before. Anywhoo...We stood in the security line for about an hour, mom was almost late for her flight (which ended up being delayed), and i was on time for mine, which ended up being delayed too...oh well.

Friday was a lazy day, having Burger King for breakfast, and just chilling out at Kate's townhouse, going to PF Changs for dinner, and then visiting Katie's adopted family, the Fitzpatricks. It was an early night, in bed and sleeping at 10pm.

Saturday was the main reason I went...we got tickets to the WMZQ Fest which featured Chris Young, Josh Turner, Clint Black, Terri Clark and Montgomery Gentry. We also scored Meet and Greet passes for Josh Turner...

It wasn't the greatest day, the forecast called for Sunny and 70, but it was rainy and about 55. We bundled up and left the house around 2, grabbed some Arby's and set out for our adventure.

We chilled out before the start of the concerts, excited about seeing Josh and meeting him again. Didn't know what to expect, so our minds definately wandered.

The show with Josh was great, and we got to meet him afterwards, it was a quick "hey...nice to meet you...smile for a picture...thank you for coming...bye" And it all happend about that quick. We had 2 extra passes so we gave them to some friends of Katie's..and they were pretty excited.

They happend to be tailgating at 10am still thinking that it was going to turn sunny and 70, but when it didn't, they were stuck in their tanktops, jeans and cowboy hats.

We stayed through the other bands, Terri Clark is one great entertainer! Montgomery Gentry was good too, but we decided to take off early to try and beat the crowds and traffic. All in all, it was a very fun day!

Sunday we got up, chilled out, read the paper and drank our cappicino's, went flower and camera shopping, then to the Fitzpatricks for dinner. Then we came home and decided to plant the flowers by lamp-light.

They actually came out pretty well!

Monday we went into Baltimore around 1pm and drove by Charm City Cakes. For those of you who don't know what that is...the owener Duff has a show called "Ace of Cakes" on the Food Network. It's AWESOME...they don't let you inside, so we did a drive by and shot some pictures...

After that we walked around the harbor and met our brothers girlfriend at ESPN Zone to hang out and play some video games...and I came to a realization...this is where i want to come on a first date!!

Then it was off to the airport to fly home...fast weekend, long blog!!! Thanks Kate for a great weekend!
